I’m a Brooklyn based yogi who loves to practice vinyasa in the heat, eat colorful meals, care for as many plants as possible, and do all types of fun activities. I graduated with a degree in dance and feminist performance art at Hampshire College in 2011. Shortly after that, I moved to Brooklyn where I performed in a plethora of experimental movement works, designed costumes for small women based dance companies, and became quite good at bartending. In 2019 I completed my yoga teacher training with Yoga To The People. Since then, I’ve been teaching yoga as much as physically possible for my body. I love working with people, breathing deep, sweating, and manipulating my body/mind/spirit in helpful ways. Teaching others how to celebrate themselves through asana and physical awareness brings me joy and stability.
My classes are exploratory, energetic, and grounding. I base my sequencing on a theme of my choice and/or the over all vibe of the room. I choreographically compose my sequences, but that does not mean the asana I choose lacks meaning or focus. Rather it means that my sequencing is fluid, surprising, and in my opinion, fun. My classes are generally open level. I work to meet each yogi where they are on their yoga path. We use anatomy, physical alignment, breath, and focus to build our postures from the ground up. I love loud playlists that combine multiple genres and have a flow, even if not in a traditional way. And of course, we will never practice a shavasana for less than five minutes. We end giving our system time to digest the benefits of our practice, and give our minds/emotions time to work towards a moment of peace.
